Abstract

A dipstick wiper comprises a pair of shanks (1, 2) pivotable about a fulcrum (3) and having wiper members (44, 45) located on inner faces of the shanks, so that a dipstick can be wiped by drawing the dipstick lengthwise between the wiper members. Wiper members may also be located in apertures (31, 32). Caps (46, 47) may be provided at the ends of the shanks with recesses (48) for fingers.
