SE INCUBA A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 32 A 39 C, APROXIMADAMENTE, EN PRESENCIA DE UN MEDIO NUTRIENTE, UN CULTIVO CELULAR DE TEJIDO DE HIGADO EXTIRPADO DE UN PRIMATE HUMANO O NO HUMANO INFECTADO CON HEPATITIS B, Y SE PROSIGUE LA INCUBACION HASTA QUE SE DETECTA EN EL CULTIVO CELULAR LA PRESENCIA DE ANTIGENOS DEL VIRUS DE LA HEPATITIS B. LA INCUBACION PUEDE TENER LUGAR EN PRESENCIA DE UNA SUSTANCIA QUE INHIBE EL CRECIMIENTO DE LOS FIBROBLASTOS, PUDIENDO SER ESTA SUSTANCIA INSULINA O GLUCAGON, ESTANDO PRESENTE EN UNA CONCENTRACION ENTRE 10-5 Y 10-7 MOLES.
