Abstract

A liquid fuel injection pumping apparatus includes a rotary distributor member 12 housed in a sleeve 11 mounted in a body 10. The distributor member is movable in an axial direction and mounts a pumping plunger 15 in a transverse bore 14. An inclined surface is formed on the plunger for co- operation to limit the outward movement of the plunger, with an inclined surface 34 on a part in the form of a strip 27. The strip rotates with the distributor member but is restricted against axial movement. Hence axial movement of the distributor member varies the amount of outward movement of the plunger and hence the amount of fuel which can be supplied by the apparatus.
