Abstract
1. Method for the setting of the conicity of narrow side walls (4, 5) of continuous casting moulds, in which the conicity of two narrow side walls (4, 5) arranged between two side walls (2, 3) is adapted during the pouring to the changing billet shrinkage, characterized thereby, that the underside of each narrow side wall (4, 5) is set with a force effecting the contact of the narrow side wall (4, 5) with the edge region of the billet shell (6) and this force counter-acting the bowing-out of the billet shell (6) is kept constant through resetting of the underside of the narrow side wall (4, 5) in correspondence with the billet shrinkage changing during the pouring.
