Abstract
Procedimiento de purificación química del naftaleno, caracterizado por el hecho de que consisten en, a) sulfonar al menos en parte, el naftaleno que hay que purificar, por reacción con el ácido sulfúrico, eliminando totalmente de forma continua el agua del medio de reacción por destilación azeotrópica, por medio de uno o varios hidrocarburos alifáticos saturados y/o cicloalifáticos saturados, de modo que el producto obtenido carezca de agua y ácido sulfúrico; b) después, si procede, mezclar el naftaleno sulfonado, al menos en parte, obtenido en a) con el naftaleno que hay que purificar; c) y después, hacer reaccionar formaldehído con el naftaleno sulfonado al menos en parte, al que se añadirá, si procede, el naftaleno que hay que purificar, d) y por último, destilar el naftaleno contenido en el medio de reacción.
