Abstract
2,6-Dihalobenzyl esters of the general formula I < IMAGE > in which R<1> and R<2> each denote fluorine, chlorine or bromine, Y<1> denotes chlorine or Y<2> denotes fluorine or chlorine, with the proviso that, if R<1> and R<2> both denote bromine, Y<2> represents fluorine and, if neither R<1> nor R<2> denotes bromine, at least one of the substituents R<1> and R<2> has the same meaning as at least one of substituents Y<1> and Y<2>, have pesticidal properties, especially insecticidal and acaricidal properties. They are prepared by reacting compounds of the formula II with those of the formula III.
