Abstract
The anchorage system is for use with multiple wire (3) cables for prestressed concrete structures (1), may be utilised in pressure vessels for nuclear reactors, and provides for the distressing of an unbonded cable. A segmental demountable transmission ring (8) is provided between a domed anchor block (9) and bearing ring (7). An enlarged duct mouth (6) allows the block (9) to move inwards when the ring (8) is removed. The two bearing faces (7b, 8a) of the segments (8) are inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the cable and may be parallel. The duct mouth (6) is of a greater dia. than the anchor block (9), is of a lesser dia. than the transmission ring (8), and has a length which is equated to the extension of the cable.
