Abstract

The present invention relates to a take-down device for a flat knitting machine and shaped knitted fabric, the device having reciprocably movable substantially planar elements pivotally biassed for engaging and taking down the fabric, and an operating device for reciprocating said elements in a preselected manner wherein each said element is arranged to be pivotable about an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the needle beds and parallel to a smooth fabric pressing surface which extends substantially the length of the machine.
