Abstract

The invention provides a suction sweeper, especially for cleaning swimming pools. The sweeper has a head 1 provided with an inlet 2 and an outlet 3 with a passage 13 connecting said inlet and outlet. The inlet and outlet axis are arranged at an angle of between 30 DEG and 60 DEG relative to each other and an oscillatable valve 14 is located in the head to alternately open and close the passage. A baffle plate 17 is provided in the head between the inlet and the valve to form a restricted suction opening 18. The outlet is adapted to be connected to a hose 12, the arrangement being such that the latter can swivel.
