Abstract
Procedimiento para la preparación de furanonas. La disociación de cianhidrina puede llevarse a cabo térmicamente o puede catalizarse por base. En la disociación térmica de cianohidrina se calienta convenientemente un compuesto hasta una temperatura de alrededor de 50ºC a 400ºC, especialmente a alrededor de 80º-250ºC. En la disociación de cianhidrina catalizada por base se trata un compuesto con una base, utilizándose convenientemente la base en cantidades catalíticas (por ejemplo con 1/1000-1/10 equivalentes. Ejemplos de bases que pueden utilizarse son bases inorgánicas tal como hidróxidos de metal alcalino (por ejemplo hidróxido sódico), hidróxidos de metal alcalinotérreo (por ejemplo hidróxido cálcico o hidróxido magnésico), carbonatos de metal alcalino (por ejemplo carbonato sódico y carbonato potásico), bicarbonatos de metal alcalino (por ejemplo bicarbonato sódico), amoniaco, otras sales básicas (por ejemplo fosfato sódico, ortofosfato diafásico de potasio y bórax).
