Abstract

Preparation of new 7-benzoyl-2-indolinones having the formula <IMAGE> in which R, R<2>, X and Y have the definition given in the claim, pharmaceutical agents useful for preventing the inflammatory response to pleural irritation. This preparation is carried out by cyclisation of a compound of formula <IMAGE> in which R<1> is hydrogen or the ethyl group.t
