Abstract

Solar energy collector incorporating a metallic absorber having the form of a corrugated cylindrical surface, the face exposed to solar radiation being sepd. from the atmos by a transparent surface and the absorber being in contact by at least one of its faces with air acting as heat transfer fluid circulating in a sleeve, has the corrugations of the absorber directed perpendicularly to the flow of the rat. The ratio between the free space for the air in circulation and the amplitude of the corrugations is pref. between 0.3-0.7. The ratio between the pitch and the amplitude of the corrugations is pref. between 3-4. The coefft. of heat transfer between the metal sheet constituting the absorber and the flow of air constituting the heat transfer fluid is increased compared with that achieved in existing absorbers.
