Abstract

Discharging process for boxes consists in gripping the latter by their lateral walls between two parallel, undulating thick PVC transporter belts because of the 'C'-shaped path, the open ends of the boxes, initially facing upwards, are turned upside down to discharge their contents, e.g. grapes. The inclined conveyor belt brings the boxes to the start of the parallel belts with the upper ends open. The 'C'-shaped track grips the boxes and brings them to point where they are in the reversed position and discharge their contents into a hopper. The empty boxes are collected by another conveyor or slide along an inclined plane to a post where they can conveniently be cleaned. The process is technically simple and low in cost. It is suitable for feeding rapes to the hopper of a press or for bringing fruits and vegetables from their point of prodn. to the hoppers of various machines.
