Abstract

Un procedimiento para prolongar la vida de al menos un electrodo con el cual se mantiene un arco, en donde se produce un flujo magnético suficiente alrededor del electrodo por medi de una bobina de campo que rodea el electrodo donde está situada la base del arco para estabilizar la misma por alimentación de corriente continua y haciendo que la alimentación de corriente continua a la bobina de campo oscile a una frecuencia comprendida en el margen de 5 x 10-1 a 1 x 10-4 Hz.
