Abstract
Two tubular components (00, 02) arranged concentrically one inside the other are divided into a driving element (148a), a cardanic element (152, 162), a driven element (154a) and a plurality of bending leaves (44, 74) by openings (40, 42) and slots (88, 90). Each bending leaf is formed by a pair of adjacent openings. One pair of bending joints situated diametrically opposite one another, each of which comprises two mutually perpendicular bending leaves, of which one belongs to the inner component and the other belongs to the outer component, connects the cardanic element to the driving element. Another bending-joint pair of this kind connects the cardanic element to the driven element. The bending leaves are obtained by machining in the openings when the inner and the outer components occupy a first rotational position in relation to one another. These components are then offset rotationally in order to form four bending joints distributed uniformly around the circumference. This gives a bending-joint arrangement for small angular deflections, the bending axes of which intersect the longitudinal axis at a common point and which is therefore particularly suitable for holding the rotor element of a free gyro.
