Abstract

Procedimiento mejorado para la preparación de anhídrido maleico por la reacción de benceno con aire y opcionalmente vapor, en presencia de un catalizador de oxidación que es útil para la reacción en un reactor de lecho fijo, comprendiendo dicha mejora emplear un catalizador que consiste en (a) un soporte esencialmente inerte de al menos aproximadamente 20 micras de diámetro, teniendo dicho soporte un superficie exterior; y (b) un revestimiento que consiste esencialmente en (i) un material de óxido cataliticamente activo o (ii) un material de óxido catalíticamente activo y un material soporte de óxido sobre la superficie exterior de soporte inerte que se adhiere fuertemente a la superficie exterior del soporte inerte.
