Abstract

The cleaning takes place prior to shut-down periods of the boiler or prior to the starting up period, when steam of medium pressure is available from the boiler. The steam is supplied to the gear via piping (1) terminating in header (1c) on which several jets (3a to 3c) are fitted. The header with its supply piping part (1b) is movable due to the telescopic arrangement of the supply piping. The jets deliver the cleaning medium/steam into venturi pipes (4, 5, 6) fitted on a movable trolley (73). The venturi pipes blow the steam together with heat exchanging gas aspirated from the surrounding space into the vertical gaps of the heat exchanging surfaces. The movement of the trolley is controlled by electric motor driven pulley assembly.
