Improvements in drum brakes with internal shoes for vehicles, of the type where the arched shoes bearing friction linings to contact a rotating drum, are intended to separate in both pairs of adjacent ends for normal service braking by means of of piston and double-front cylinder hydraulic actuator assemblies each of which comprises opposed pistons operating in bores in a relatively stationary housing, whereby the brake operates with a brake of the type of two front shoes for both directions of rotation of the drum and the braking force of each shoe is absorbed by a stop in the drive assembly at the front end of the shoe.
