Abstract
Procedimiento y aparato de medición ultrasónica de artículos que tienen dos superficies separadas, tal como el espesor de la pared de un cilindro en motores de combustión interna procedimiento caracterizado porque comprende les fases de sumergir el artículo en un fluido de acoplamiento, dirigir un impulso de energía ultrasónica hacia el artículo desde un lugar separado del mismo, detectar un primer impulso reflejado desde una de las superficies, detectar un segundo impulso procedente de la otra superficie, medir el intervalo de tiempo entre el impulso transmitido, y el primer impulso reflejado y entre el primer y el segundo impulsos reflejados, y multiplicar uno de los intervalos de tiempo por un factor que representa la relación de velocidad sónica en el medio de acoplamiento y artículo, respectivamente, obteniendo señales que representan la distancia entre el lugar y la primera pared y entre la primera y segundas paredes.
