Abstract

Procedimiento para clarificar agua contaminada en el que se adicionan partículas de un floculante polímero a agua bajo condiciones tales que el polímero se disuelve en el agua, caracterizado porque comprende las operaciones de: (1) preparar una composición sólida de partículas discretas, comprendiendo cada partícula (a) subpartículas de un polímero floculante, (b) subpartículas de un sólido diluyente en partículas que ayuda a reducir la aglomeración de las partículas de polímero incrementando la separación física entre las partículas, y (c) 0,1 a 20% en peso del polímero de agua, como agente de enlace, estando cada una de dichas partículas enlazadas mediante redes de polímero y diluyente sólido, creando por lo tanto condiciones que conducen al aumento de la dispersión y al retardo de la disolución del polímero cuando la composición se añade inicialmente al agua; (2) se agrega a la composición con agitación al agua a una temperatura comprendida entre 4,5 y 32ºC para preparar un líquido de alimentación; y (3) se agrega el líquido de alimentación al agua contaminada a clarificar.
