Abstract

An exhaust apparatus for an internal combustion engine whose apparatus comprises an exhaust pipe that can be connected to receive exhaust gases from said engine, a single supply pipe connected to receive exhaust gases from said exhaust pipe, a first chamber reaction chamber connected to receive exhaust gases from said feed tube, a second reaction chamber surrounding and enclosing said first reaction chamber, means for discharging exhaust gases from the first reaction chamber to the second reaction chamber, and an exhaust gas outlet from said second reaction chamber, characterized in that, for use with an engine having a plurality of cylinders with different exhaust times, the apparatus includes a plurality of said exhaust pipes to receive gases from exhaust from said cylinders, said single supply pipe is connected to receive exhaust gases from all said exhaust pipes, and the effective cross-sectional area of said exhaust pipes and of said outlet pipe are substantially equal.
