Abstract
A fuel injection system for a compression ignition engine, comprising a first transducer that produces an electrical output representative of demand, a second transducer that produces an electrical output representative of engine speed, a memory device having first and second inputs and one output, said device being programmed to produce an output having a magnitude dependent on the magnitude of said inputs, means for coupling the second transducer with said first input to represent the motor speed, means for coupling a combination of the output of the first and second transducers with said second input to represent the engine load, and control means operable by the output from the memory device to determine the amount of fuel injected into each cylinder of the engine, the system operating without any feedback representative of the quantity fuel injected.
