Abstract
Procedure for obtaining cyclopentane derivatives, of formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R1 is a hydroxymethyl or carboxy radical, or an alkoxycarbonyl radical of up to 11 carbon atoms; Either R2 is a hydroxy radical or an alkanoyloxy radical of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R3 is a hydrogen atom, or R2 and R3 together form an oxo radical; A is an ethylene or trans-vinyl radical; Y is a direct bond or an alkylidene or alkylidenoxy radical of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, being, in the second of these, the alkylidene part bonded to the carbon atom of the group -CH (OH) - and the oxygen atom is bonded to R4; and R4 is a phenyl or naphthyl radical unsubstituted or substituted by halogen atoms, nitro, hydroxy or phenyl radicals, alkyl, alkenyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy or acylamino radicals each of up to 4 carbon atoms, or dialkylamino radicals in which each alkyl is 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and whose compound contains 0 or an alkyl radical of 1 to 4 carbon atoms in carbon atoms 2, 3 or 4; and when R1 is a carboxy radical, the pharmaceutically or veterinarily acceptable salts, characterized in that it comprises separating a mixture of the 5-trans-cyclopentane derivative of formula I and the corresponding 5-cis-isomer.
