Abstract

The light-curable polymer system contains a preponderance of urethane prepolymer, extended by means of a polyol compound, and has unsaturated acrylic or methacrylic end groups, a portion of the said groups having a tetraurethane linkage. The light-curable polymer system is a nonadhesive solid at room temperature, and a low-viscosity liquid at a high temperature less than that at which the heat-polymerisation is generated. For preparing photo-etched printing plates, this light-curable polymer system is melted at a temperature between the melting point and the temperature at which the heat-polymerisation is generated, then cast on a substrate and solidified by cooling below the melting point.
