A method of isolating an electrical conductor by means of an insulator comprising a hydrogenated copolymer of an aliphatic hydrocarbon conjugated diene, and an aromatic hydrocarbon having a substituent unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon, said copolymer having a maximum iodine equivalent of 200 milligrams per gram of copolymer, a maximum heat of fusion (measured as defined in the specification) of 20 calories per gram of copolymer, and a maximum vinyl content, before hydrogenation, of 25 weight percent.
