Abstract
Expansion joint arrangement for road works, such as bridge decks, comprising two metal elements each carried by one of the two parts of the work facing each other, each having a substantially lower surface flat to rest on a part of said portion of work that supports said element, and fixing means that comprise, at least, an anchoring rod that has a hooking means on said end, element, and on the other end of its extremities a coupling means on said part of work that supports said element, the joint being characterized by the fact that said rods are inclined in relation to the perpendicular to the running surface, the extremity carrying the coupling means being located on the metallic element closer to the center line of the joint than the extremity anchored in the part of work that supports the corresponding element, being each stem is anchored by its lower end in the material of the work and maintaining, thanks to a threaded nut on the upper end, a permanent state of compression in the anchor and creating a prestress in the concrete of the corresponding work part.
