A process for the preparation of (3-tri-fluomethylphenoxy) (4-chlorophenyl) acetate of 2-acetamidoethyl which consists in heating a lower alkyl (3-trifluoromethylphenoxy) (4-chloro-phenyl) -acetate with 2-acetamidoethanol, in presence of an organotin catalyst in the proportion of 1 to 8 moles per 100 of the ester, at a temperature comprised between approximately 90º and 110ºC and continuously separating the lower alkanol formed.
