Abstract
Improvements introduced in the object of the main patent No. 403,306 applied for on May 30, 1972 for: "Apparatus for coating and filling the interstices between elements of an elongated flexible body", formed by braiding or grouping a plurality of the elements together, with a filler material that is liquid at a temperature above normal room temperature and that sets to a viscous or solid state at room temperature, the apparatus of which comprises a bath, to contain the liquid filler material; an inlet matrix through which an elongated flexible body can be passed into the bathroom, and an outlet matrix through which the body can be passed out of the bathroom, the matrices being positioned so that they are totally below the level of the liquid filler when contained in the bath; means associated with the matrices capable of maintaining the matrices at a temperature such that there is no substantial loss of said liquid from the bath through the matrices while the body is continuously passing through the bath; a camera positioned in the bath so that a body passing through the bath between the inlet and outlet matrices will pass through the chamber; and inlet and outlet ports in the chamber through which the liquid filler material can be caused to flow into and out of the chamber.
