Abstract
Process for the production of fire-retardant regenerated cellulose filaments and articles, characterized in that it comprises dispersing, in the cellulose, 30-100 parts by weight, per 100 parts of cellulose, of linear polymeric phosphazenes that are substantially liquid polymeric phosphazenes insoluble in water, and 0-70 parts of a mixed cyclic phosphazene of general formula: **(See formula)** wherein n is at least 3 and X and Y represent the same or different substituents including -OR groups where R is aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic, said straight chain or branched aliphatic radical having 1 to 12 atoms carbon, the cycloaliphatic radicals having 4 to 6 carbon atoms and the aromatic radicals having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, groups -SR where R is defined as above, groups -NR1R2 where R1 is hydrogen and R2 is a group lower aliphatic or R1 and R2 are lower aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic groups as previously described, and R1, R2 and -N together form a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen heterocyclic group, and 30 to 100% of a linear polymeric phosphazene whose Recurring structural units have the general formula: **(See formula)** where X and Y are defined as above.
