Abstract

An apparatus for detaching an electrostatically adherent transfer sheet from an electrostatically recording surface, comprising: a suction detacher; and a support for arranging said suction stripper in non-contiguous relationship with said transfer sheet on said registration surface such that it separates at least a portion of said sheet from said registration surface by lifting the leading edge of the sheet with respect to the recording surface and bringing it into retaining contact with the detacher.
