Abstract
Procedure for obtaining a pyridone derivative, of general formula: **(See formula)** in which R1 and R2 are the same or different substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkylene, cycloalkyl or benzyl radicals, and R is a straight or branched chain, alkyl, cycloalkyl, benzyl and alkylene radical characterized by reacting a pyrone of general formula: **(See formula)** with a 4-alkoxyaniline of the general formula: **(See formula)** in which formulas, R, R1 and R2 have the same meanings as above and, if desired, the pyridone derivative of general formula I obtained is subjected to transesterification by boiling it with an appropriate alcohol, or alternatively, if desired, in the In case R1 and R2 are methyl or ethyl, the obtained pyridone derivative of general formula I is saponified, and the free carboxyl groups obtained are esterified with a suitable alcohol.
