Abstract

Decoding system for color television receiver, adapted for a chrominance signal component of a color television signal transmitted in accordance with a phase reversal system on successive lines, said decoding system including a circuit device that it includes a delay device, for delaying said chrominance signal component for substantially one line period, and a switching device serving to change the state thereof for each line period, said circuit device producing a composite modified chrominance signal by the delayed and non-delayed chrominance signal components arranged sequentially and alternately during each line period, and a first and second demodulation devices to demodulate said modified chrominance signal with predetermined phase reference subcarrier signals, respectively, characterized or by providing control signal producing devices for detecting a specific color pulse signal that appears first after a period of color pulse suppression in said chrominance signal, at least once for four periods successive raster and producing a control signal in response to said detected color pulse signal, and a control device is also provided to control said switching device in said circuit device, in accordance with said control signal to ensure that said modified chrominance signal has the appropriate phase relationship with respect to said reference subcarrier signals.
