Procedure for the preparation of a cationic, water-free, non-powder powder, characterized in that the cationic dye is treated with a water-soluble, non-ionogenic polyglycol ether or its anioactive ester or with a bulk polymer of polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene, with a molecular weight from 1,000 to 16,000, more particularly because (a) the cationic dye is treated with a solution or dispersion of polyglycol ether or its ester or with the bulk polymer in a solvent that does not dissolve the cationic dye, preferably toluene, and then the solvent is removed, and optionally, (b) the cationic dye is dispersed in water with the polyglycol ether or its ester or with the bulk polymer, and also optionally (c) the cationic dye powder is intimately mixed with the polyglycol ether, its ester, or with the bulk polymer.
