Abstract
A method of treating mineral material to prepare the material to be moistened and agglomerated with water, the material containing particles that are included in a range of sizes ranging from 325 to 0.952 mm (3/8 inch) mesh, and fines and powder of which approximately 60% pass through a 325 mesh screen, using the dry grinding system, characterized by the steps consisting of separating the particles from said fines and said powder; dry the separated particles so that they have a moisture content of less than 1%; dry grinding the particles that have been dried to a size at least as small as that of said fines and dust; and mixing the fines and dust separated from the particles, before carrying out drying and grinding, with the particles that have been dried and ground to cool the particles that have been dried and ground, thus obtaining a material prepared to be moistened and agglomerated with water with a minimum of vaporization and evaporation of the water that has been added to prepare the agglomeration.
