Abstract
A mould closing device comprises at least two piston-cylinder units 8, 9 attached to a stationary mould carrier plate 2 or to a stationary end plate 6 for moving a mould carrier plate 7, a mould closing pressure device 17, 18 (Fig. 2) connecting the plates 6 and 7 only during the moulding operation and a pressure piece consisting of two parts, one part 10 being mounted on the movable plate 7 and the other part 12 on the end plate 6, and at least one part of the pressure piece is variable in length and is transversely displaceable on a support that carries it. In the example shown in Fig. 2 the part 12 is movable into and out of line with the part 10 by means of a piston-cylinder unit (19), Fig. 1 (not shown), the length of the part 12 being variable by means of a screw threaded portion 13. An ejector plate 23 is actuated by an hydraulic ram 22 within the part 10. In Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) both parts of the pressure piece include screw-threaded adjustable portions. In Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) the mould closing pressure device (26) is also movable transversely. In Fig. 7 both parts of the pressure piece 12, 13 and 24, 25 are movable transversely by means of piston-cylinder devices 19, 119 respectively. In this embodiment the mould 20, 21 is eccentrically arranged.
