Ethylene homo- and co-polymers are obtained by polymerization in the presence of a catalyst comprising (A) the reaction product of a hydroxy magnesium compound deposited on a carrier with a halo-titanic ester containing at least one alkoxy or aralkoxy group and (B) an organo-aluminium compound.
