Abstract

An apparatus for driving a belt to be used with a respective unit that has a plurality of rollers with support shafts to guide and support an endless belt capable of moving around them and with the central points of the shafts substantially in parallel, comprising a support arm rotatably coupled to each end of the axis of one of the rollers; means for rotatingly mounting said support arms on a common central support point substantially parallel to the central point of said axis, said axis and said central rotary support point defining a plane arranged to bisect the angle between the planes of the sectors of strap on either side of said roller; and control means for rotatingly acting said support arms in opposite directions in response to the deviation of the belt from a respective predisposed path whereby said roller is rotated around a central point of support in said bisector plane and normal with respect to the central point of said axis.
