Abstract

A double base propellant comprises nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine, or dimethylene glycol dinitrate, or methyltrimethylol methane trinitrate, or diethylene glycol dinitrate, or metriol trinitrate, and additives selected from salicylic acid, # - resorcylic acid, 2,5 - dihydroxy - benzoic acid, 5 - methylene disalicylic acid, powdered aluminium, lead salicylate, lead acetylsalicylate, lead 2,4 - dihydroxybenzoate, lead 2 - ethylhexoate, propyl - di - N - adipate, 2 - nitrodiphenylamine, monobasic cupric salicylate, monobasic lead # - resorcylate, candelilla wax, cupric # - resorcylate and aliphatic or aromatic salts of lead and/or copper.
