Abstract

The arrangement for coiling a telephone handset cord within the body of a telephonic instrument as disclosed in the parent Specification 1,075,871 is modified in that the pulley-like container 1 is supported via a spindle in a support structure b which projects at each end, diametrically from the container periphery, and is held to the base 14 by elastic clips 28. The support structure b comprises two coupled plates, between which the container 1 is mounted. The pawl 20 for engaging the ratchet 19 on the container, is mounted on the support structure. A tube 24 is provided on the base 14, for the passage of the flat cable 10, the latter being turned through 90 degrees about its longitudinal axis due to passing between a pair of cylindrical rollers 26 mounted in the tube 24.
