Abstract

A D.C. dynamo-electric machine comprises a permanent magnet 1 secured to a stationary, laminated flux return component 2, and a rotor 5 without a magnetic core adapted to rotate in the field of the P.M., the flux return component being flattened in the regions 3, 31 adjacent the magnetic poles. In modifications, Figs. 2, 3, 4 (not shown), the flux return component is generally U-shaped and a P.M. may additionally or alternatively be secured to one or both limbs of the U.
