Abstract
In a process for the determination of water contained in liquid organic material, the water containing liquid organic material is fed through a cell 4 together with the organic material in anhydrous form to which has been added one or more halogen derivatives of metalloids and acid halides, and the change in temperature caused by reacting the two liquids is determined by thermistors 5 as a measure of the water content. Both liquid streams pass through coils 8 in the water tank 2, and then through tank 3 before entering the cell 4.
