Process for the treatment of the gases coming from the production of styrene, by conducting ethylbenzene over catalysts, in the presence of water vapor, which leave the dehydrogenation zone with a temperature comprised between approximately 520 and 680ºC and which can be found , possibly, in a previously cooled state, by means of a heat exchange, at 140º C; characterized in that the sensible heat content and heat of condensation of these reaction mixtures is utilized in an exchange of heat with the mixture of ethylbenzene and styrene obtained by condensation of condensable components of the reaction mixture and after the water is separated, for increasing in said mixture of ethylbenzene and styrene, preferably directly the concentration of the styrene by a distillation operation.
