Abstract

A tanker for transporting liquefied gases having thermally insulated tanks 1, 2, 3 within a cargo hold and a secondary barrier 1a, 2a, 3a on or in the insulation 23 between the walls 22 of the tanks and those of the holds has piping 8 adjacent to the bottom floors of the tanks connecting the tanks with each other and with a pump 12, said piping (in self-supporting rigid tanks outside them, in supported membrane tanks inside them as in Fig. 1) including piping outside the tanks, the outside piping including piping within coffer dams 4, 5, 6 and being provided with insulation 28, 29 and a secondary barrier 1b, 2b, 3b on or in said insulation.
