A steam generating system for supplying steam to a load having selected minimum circulation requirements, including first and second heating sections and valvular means connecting said sections in series and an adjustable restriction at the outlet of said second section, characterized by the combination of the following properties: first and second valvular means in parallel constituting said valvular means, pump means for forcing a flow of fluid through said first section, said valvular means, said second section and said restriction in series, said first valve means being adjustable to prevent said circulation and being adapted to maintain a predetermined working pressure in said first section, said restriction having a preselected opening position, said first valve means having a maximum circulation capacity at said pressure of work which is only sufficient to raise the pressure in said second section to an elevated pressure slightly above that which would eliminate the critical pressure drop through said first valvular means with said restriction in said preselected opening position, said adjustments being adjustable second valvular means for maintaining said working pressure in said first section at increased circulations.
