Abstract

A side plate (1) for a scraper-chain conveyor channel section (15) having a pair of generally sigma-shaped side walls (14) is connectible to one of the side walls (14) by securing means which engage in the V-shaped recess (17) of that side wall. The side plate (1) is a profiled plate (2) having a web (3) formed with angled-over flanges (4, 5) at the ends thereof, the flanges extending substantially at right-angles to the web. The web (3) determines the height of the side plate (1), and the flanges (4, 5) determine the thickness of the side plate. The profiled plate (2) is provided with generally parallel stiffening struts (6 to 9) welded to the web (3) and to the flanges (4, 5), and with at least two generally parallel beams (10, 11) welded in between a pair of adjacent struts (7, 9) and to the web. The beams (10, 11) extend substantially at right-angles to the struts (6 to 9).
