Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1005880/C2/1> in which R is an alkoxycarbonyl, dialkylcarbanoyl, hydroxyalkylcarbonoyl, dialkylureido or alkoxycarbonylamino-group, the alkyl groups in each case having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxymethyl radical, or a carbonyl radical substituted by a tripeptide radical of a natural ergot alkaloid of the peptide type, and <FORM:1005880/C2/2> signifies two carbon atoms joined by a single or double bond, acid addition salts thereof, and their preparation by cyanoethylation with acrylonitrile in the presence of a proton acceptor. The above compounds have a serotonin-inhibiting action, and may be used in pharmaceutical compositions in combination with an inert carrier.
