Abstract

A crankshaft (5) for hermetic compressors has a tubular portion (8) at its lower end attached to a tubular neck (9) of plastics material which diverges upwardly. The neck (9) is intended to draw the lubricant from the bottom of the compressor casing as a result of the rotation of the shaft (5) and to deliver this lubricant into the tubular portion (8) of the shaft (5) itself. At its lower end the tubular portion has an external annular groove (16) with a lower frusto-conical side converging upwardly. The upper part of the neck has a resiliently yeldable sleeve (18) fitted onto the lower end of the tubular shaft portion (8). The inner wall of the sleeve has tooth-shaped projections which cooperate like a cam with the lower frusto-conical side of the said groove (16) to urge the neck (9) upwardly, as a result of the resilience of the sleeve (18), to a position of fluid-tight coupling with the lower end of the tubular shaft portion (8).
