Abstract

Improvements introduced in the manufacture of copy sheet articles that, when heated in the thermographic process, form a clearly visible image by interreaction of reagents; said reagents being in a single layer or in separate layers on a single carrier or in separate layers on cooperating separate carriers; said reagents (1) being a normally solid organic acid salt of a noble metal and (2) an alpha-naphthol having directly attached to the hydroxy-substituted aromatic ring a preponderance of electron donating groups that can be alcohol, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, hydroxy or amino; or, (1) nickel stearate and (2) N, N'-bis-furfuryl dithiooxamide; these improvements being further characterized in that the articles are rendered incapable of undergoing the image-forming reaction by moderately exposing the layer containing the reagent (2) to irradiation in the range close to ultraviolet.
