Abstract
Un método para recubrir un substrato, comprendiendo el método: (A) aplicar una composición de recubrimiento sobre una superficie del substrato, en donde la composición de recubrimiento comprende: (i) un retardante de llama inorgánico; (ii) un compuesto anfifílico orgánico; y (iii) agua; y (B) curar la composición de recubrimiento para formar un recubrimiento seco sobre el substrato.
Claims (21)
- REIVINDICACIONES
- 1. Un método para recubrir un substrato, comprendiendo el método:(A) aplicar una composición de recubrimiento sobre una superficie del substrato, en donde la composición de recubrimiento comprende:(i) un retardante de llama inorgánico; 5(ii) un compuesto anfifílico orgánico; y(iii) agua; y(B) curar la composición de recubrimiento para formar un recubrimiento seco sobre el substrato.
- 2. El método de la reivindicación 1, en donde el retardante de llama inorgánico comprende trihidrato de alúmina, hidróxido de magnesio, carbonato de calcio, molibdato de calcio, molibdato de zinc, molibdato de 10 amonio, o una combinación de los mismos.
- 3. El método de la reivindicación 1, en donde el compuesto anfifílico orgánico comprende un dímero de alquil-ceteno, un anhídrido succínico de alquenilo, una colofonia neutra, o una combinación de los mismos.
- 4. El método de la reivindicación 1, en donde la composición de recubrimiento además comprende un agente de suspensión. 15
- 5. El método de la reivindicación 4, en donde:la composición de recubrimiento es una emulsión que es estable durante al menos 1 semana a 25ºC y 1 atm; yel agente de suspensión comprende un dispersante de poliacrilato, un agente de emulsión hinchable en álcali (ASE), un agente de emulsión hinchable en álcali hidrofóbicamente modificado (HASE), una resina de 20 uretano etoxilada hidrofóbicamente modificada (HEUR), o una combinación de los mismos.
- 6. El método de la reivindicación 1, en donde la etapa (B) se realiza a una temperatura en un intervalo de aproximadamente 100 a aproximadamente 200oC.
- 7. El método de la reivindicación 1, en donde un peso de recubrimiento del recubrimiento seco está en un intervalo de aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 500 gsm. 25
- 8. El método de la reivindicación 1, en donde el substrato comprende metal, madera, papel, plástico, vidrio, fibra de vidrio, o combinaciones de los mismos.
- 9. Un substrato recubierto preparado por el método de la reivindicación 1.
- 10. El substrato recubierto de la reivindicación 9, en donde el substrato recubierto pasa un ensayo de penetración superficial durante 30 minutos utilizando una disolución de ensayo de agua. 30
- 11. El substrato recubierto de la reivindicación 9, en donde el substrato recubierto pasa un ensayo de penetración superficial durante 5 minutos utilizando una disolución de ensayo que consiste en 28% en volumen de etanol y 72% en volumen de agua.
- 12. El substrato recubierto de la reivindicación 9, en donde el substrato recubierto pasa un ensayo de penetración superficial durante 1 minuto utilizando una disolución de ensayo que consiste en 40% en volumen de 35 etanol y 60% en volumen de agua.
- 13. Una composición de recubrimiento que comprende:(i) un retardante de llama inorgánico;(ii) un compuesto anfifílico orgánico; y(iii) agua. 40
- 14. La composición de la reivindicación 13, en donde:la composición de recubrimiento comprende de aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 90% en peso de retardante de llama inorgánico; yel retardante de llama inorgánico comprende un trihidrato de alúmina precipitado, no tratado, que tiene un tamaño de partícula D50 en un intervalo de aproximadamente 0,25 a aproximadamente 5 μm.
- 15. La composición de la reivindicación 13, en donde:la composición de recubrimiento comprende de aproximadamente 0,1 a aproximadamente 10% en peso compuesto anfifílico orgánico; y 5el compuesto anfifílico orgánico comprende un dímero de alquil-ceteno.
- 16. La composición de la reivindicación 13, en donde:la composición de recubrimiento además comprende de aproximadamente 0,05 a aproximadamente 8% en peso de agente de suspensión; yel agente de suspensión comprende un agente de emulsión hinchable en álcali (ASE). 10
- 17. La composición de la reivindicación 13, en donde:la composición de recubrimiento es una suspensión espesa acuosa que comprende de aproximadamente 55 a aproximadamente 75% en peso de sólidos; yla composición de recubrimiento tiene una viscosidad Brookfield en un intervalo de aproximadamente 200 a aproximadamente 5000 cP a 25ºC y 1 atm. 15
- 18. Un recubrimiento seco producido a partir de la composición de recubrimiento de la reivindicación 13, en donde el recubrimiento seco tiene un espesor en un intervalo de aproximadamente 35 a aproximadamente 350 gsm.
- 19. El recubrimiento seco de la reivindicación 18, en donde:el recubrimiento seco pasa un ensayo de penetración superficial durante 30 minutos utilizando una 20 disolución de ensayo de agua;el recubrimiento seco pasa un ensayo de penetración superficial durante 5 minutos utilizando una disolución de ensayo que consiste en 28% en volumen de etanol y 72% en volumen de agua; yel recubrimiento seco pasa un ensayo de penetración superficial durante 1 minuto utilizando una disolución de ensayo que consiste de 40% en volumen de etanol y 60% en volumen de agua. 25
- 20. Un artículo de fabricación que comprende un substrato al menos parcialmente cubierto con el recubrimiento seco de la reivindicación 18.
