Abstract

Perfeccionamientos en la fabricación de elementos de combustible para reactores nucleares, caracterizados porque éstos comprenden un cuerpo de material fisil encerrado en una envoltura protectora, y por comprender la etapa de someter la envoltura del elemento combustible a un aumento de presión externa, a una temperatura elevada, para conformar dicha envoltura en íntimo contacto con el cuerpo de material fisil en ella contenido y, además, porque el elemento combustible se aloja en un sujetador que aplica un esfuerzo compresivo longitudinal a la envoltura del elemento combustible; el mencionado sujetar está constituido por dos o más materiales en forma combinado con objeto de acoplarse en expansión térmica, con el cuerpo de material fisil a fin de que la envoltura pueda dilatarse aproximadamente solo en la misma cantidad que el cuerpo de combustible, al calentarse durante el aumento de presión.
